Capella has a number of large annual events for residents and visitors to enjoy and/or participate in.
How about taking up the challenge of giant thong throwing on Australia Day, or admire the skill of horse and rider competing in the Campdraft.
Don’t miss the large numbers and variety of craft stalls at Christmas in July. Turn back time with the machinery and tractors of yesteryear in all their chuff-chuffing glory, plus stalls, cartoons and blacksmithing during Heritage Day on the second Saturday in September at the Pioneer Village.
Gasp at the antics and close calls of rodeo clowns as they protect fallen competitors throughout exciting bull riding rounds.
Throughout the year also, there are concerts in the Capella Cultural Centre. Artists who have appeared include Jimmy Barnes, Shannon Noll, Lee Kernaghan, Midnight Oil, Human Nature and Human Nature.
There is a range of accommodation options supporting Capella’s events and attractions, from camping facilities to caravan park, to cabins and four star motels.
Dates for Capella events can be found on the Central Highlands Regional Council's Events Calendar: www.centralhighlands.qld.gov.au/events-calendar/
